Don’t Try These at Home: Auto Repairs

Car maintenance items you should always leave to the professionals.

We appreciate our car buffs who entrust us with their vehicles! While some vehicle repairs can certainly be performed in your home’s garage, there are some that are best left to the professionals. Our shop allows us to perform the more expensive & complex repairs at affordable prices & in a timely manner.

With our state-of-the-art machines, trained technicians & years of experience, we’ve got a quick list of ‘Don’t Try This at Home’ auto repairs that are best left to us!

Engine diagnostics – With everyone from big box stores, like Auto Zone to smartphone apps making it possible to talk to the computer in your car, many drivers often think they can deal with a check engine light themselves. While we know many of you are capable of doing this, it’s always best to leave this service to the professionals. The main reason being – many check engine codes are vague and require more sophisticated equipment to really get to the bottom of the story. Let our pros read the codes, apply their training to decipher them and get to the roof of the cause.

Tire rotation – Sure, it’s easy to jack up the vehicle and swap the wheels around, but tire rotation service also includes re-balancing of the tires. This is when we check for uneven wear and tear, including sidewall and tread damage. It’s best to let us use our equipment and trained eye to keep you safe & help your tires last longer.

Suspension repairs – This is definitely a safety repair we take very seriously! Your suspension keeps your car between the lines! When you install new components you could invariably mess up the alignment specifications, which in turn makes your car a safety hazard and shortens the life of your tires.

These are just a few of the repairs we suggest leaving to the professionals. However, if you’re a red-blooded American who enjoys car repairs in your own garage, give us a call and we can help you decide on when it’s best to come into the shop.
